Grayson College Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Northeast Texas College


Denison, TX- Grayson College took the lead late in game one and defeated Northeast Texas College 5-1 on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Grayson College batting in the bottom of the fifth when Shelby Fleming connected on an 0-1 pitch for a three run homerun.  Danielle Humphrey followed Fleming with a solo shot to dead center. 

Kylie Williams earned the win for Grayson College. She surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

Grayson College tallied seven hits in the game. Fleming and Skylar Shedlock all collected multiple hits for Grayson College. Shedlock and Fleming each managed two hits to lead Grayson College. Grayson College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. 

Game two ended in the second inning by forfeit from Northeast Texas College.
